PICKLE AND OIL
Pickle and oil is a two-step process that removes surface contaminants, such as rust, scale, and other corrosion from the surface of ferrous metal parts. This first step,"pickling," involves placing the metal part in an acidic solution to remove any oxidation or other surface impurities. This is followed by the second step, "oiling." Oiling is where an oil-based rust inhibitor is applied to the clean metal surface to protect it from further corrosion until it can be further processed or put into use.
At Sub Source, we have expertise, resources, and capabilities to clean large volumes of metal parts using pickle and oil, as well as other metal preparation methods.
